LA-based Screenwriter.
About Me.
John Lombard is a comedy writer drawn toward sci-fi, action – and all the things that make us human, like break-ups, loss, and the power of friendship. Most of all, John writes stories of everyday underdogs thrust into larger-than-life scenarios.
John’s work has been recognized by the Austin Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, American Advertising Federation, and the National Alliance for Musical Theater.
In 2019, John was a Nickelodeon Writing Program semifinalist with his MODERN FAMILY spec. In 2020, his web series script MIDNIGHT LAUNDRY advanced to the second round of Austin Film Festival’s Digital Scripted competition. He co-wrote the short film CALL IT A FRONT, winning Best Dark Comedy at Indie Short Fest in 2022, and his feature script GLITTER was a semifinalist at Austin Film Fest in 2023.
Raised in a theater family, in an arts town, John found inspiration for storytelling at an early age. This love of writing propelled him through college where he studied theater and playwriting, and then onto Second City’s comedy writing program. He truly loves the craft of writing and is never happier than when breaking a story, or collaborating with like-minded creatives.
John currently works as a writer on Apple’s Photo Storytelling team and lives in Burbank with his wife and sweet old cat.
